Description Concering Books Stealing the Preacher (Archer Brothers #2)
On his way to interview for a position at a church in the Piney Woods of Texas, Crockett Archer can scarcely believe it when he's forced off the train by a retired outlaw and presented to the man's daughter as the minister she requested for her birthday. Worried this unfortunate detour will ruin his chances of finally serving a congregation of his own, Crockett is determined to escape. But when he finally gets away, he's haunted by the memory of the young woman he left behind--a woman whose dreams now hinge on him.For months, Joanna Robbins prayed for a preacher. A man to breathe life back into the abandoned church at the heart of her community. A man to assist her in fulfilling a promise to her dying mother. A man to help her discover answers to the questions that have been on her heart for so long. But just when it seems God has answered her prayers, it turns out the person is there against his will and has dreams of his own calling him elsewhere. Is there any way she can convince Crockett to stay in her little backwoods community? And does the attraction between them have any chance of blossoming when Joanna's outlaw father is dead set against his daughter courting a preacher?

Stealing the Preacher , the sequel to Short Straw Bride , by Karen Witemeyer is a Christian western romance. It's set in Texas in the late 1800's.Crockett Archer is on his way via train to apply for a preacher position when the train is held up by a masked gang. The only thing they steal is Crockett!Joanna Robbins is the daughter of the gang's ringleader, and is horrified when her father presents her with Crockett as a birthday present! What I liked :*The lead characters are easy to admire, andStealing the Preacher was a little more Christian then Karen Witemeyer's other books BUT it makes sense because the main character is a preacher! I sometimes like my Christian books lighter on the Christian but I didn't really mind this one! It made religion applicable to the characters lives without being overly preachy. It kind of reminds me of the Hallmark series Love Comes Softly. I have grown to love Karen Witemeyer's books. I get excited when I find that she has written a new one! She has
This was a fun and entertaining Christian historical romance novel with a well written plot and a fair amount of action. I liked the characters, and I loved learning more about the second Archer brother, Crockett, and seeing the unique way he met his match.

Stealing the Preacher is the sequel to Short-Straw Bride. I learned this piece of information halfway through the book because one of my friends mentioned it. If I hadnt known it was a sequel I had never figured that out by reading this bookso the book can easily be read as stand-alone.Abducted from a train by an ex-outlaw, Crockett Archer is presented to the mans daughter as a birthday present for her 21st birthday. Joanna Robbins cant believe that her father forced a preacher off the train and
I'm so glad I read this!! It is WAYYY better than the first book in this series. I don't really know what to rate this. I want to give it five stars merely because I was pleasantly surprised by the contrast of this one to Travis' story. But four it is....What I loved:-I'll start with the main thing that bothered me in the last book. Romance. This one focused so much more on a true relationship, instead of the physical side. Crockett didn't focus on a woman's body like Travis did and his feelings
Crockett Archer is on his way to interview for a pastor position in Brenham when he is kidnapped from the train and taken to a ranch in the middle of no where to be a birthday present for the outlaw's daughter. Joanna Robbins has been praying for a preacher to come and bring new life into the small country church near her father's ranch in the hopes that maybe her outlaw father will finally answer God's call on his life. She certainly didn't expect her prayers to be answered by a handsome
Well, I don't even know what to say. This was so awesome. Where has Karen Witemeyer been all my life again?I read Short Straw Bride, the first book in this series, not too long ago and I really liked it, but in my opinion this one was even better. They are written in the same wonderful, engaging way, and both feature delightful characters, but my preference for Stealing the Preacher stems from the fact that I preferred the hero and the heroine, and the amount of spiritual depth that flowed
