Orphaned after her parents were killed by Comanches, Loretta Simpson still lives in terror that the warriors will return, her fear so powerful, she is no longer able to speak a word.
Hunter of the Wolf believes that Loretta is a woman of ancient prophecy whom he must honor. But Loretta can only see him as the enemy who has kidnapped her, and she refuses to succumb to his control—or his touch.
Despite the hatred between their peoples, Loretta and Hunter gradually find their enmity changing to respect and care. In the midst of such conflict, it will take all the force of their love to find a safe haven.

The way I see it, the book's lovely cover is just like poo-pourri spray: an attempt to mask a turd! Lesson learned? Don't judge the quality of a book by its cover.Heroine Loretta Simpson is given the moniker of "Little Wise One" (oh irony, how cruel you are) via a big ole prophecy, but fails to live up to the hype. Little Wise One proves she's special, but only if one considers a fickle, doormatty nature and TSTL traits as unique. The evidence to support her wise nature seemed more sparse thanComanche Moon is Native American romance at its best. It is a powerful, intense and brutally honest story of two people caught up in the ultimate forbidden love...how they defied decades of history and the steadfast customs of two warring nations to follow their hearts and be together.Hunter of the Wolf is a fierce Comanche warrior who, for good reason, has devoted his life to "fighting the great fight" against the white man. However, from birth he has known that he is the "chosen one" to
Post listen review. What adjective should I use to describe how bad this is? Tragically bad? Majestically bad? Unfailingly bad? Insanely bad? Do you get that I think it's bad?I subjected my ears to 21 hours of this garbage. It was awful. Here is what happens in the book. There is some sort of a prophecy (Always a good start right?) where a Comanche warrior is going to meet a "honey haired" woman and ummm... get it on with her I guess... and then they will... move west. The Comanche warrior, Hunter

Well. I'm not sure if I can take another muscular hero who abducts a trembling doe eyed female and tenderly helps her get rid of her maidenhead. On second thought, that I can handle. But the - in romance novels apparently obligatory - perfectly anticlimactic pregnancy and baby as a 'happy conclusion' seriously make me want to commit harakiri (since I finished Comanche Moon during a train trip I was forced to leave it at a contemptuous snort though). Getting knocked up after fumbling around for a
What I liked:-The attention to detail and accuracy to the Western trail made the story so vivid and engaging. Brava Anderson! -Hunter's endearing relationship with little Amy and his nieces Blackbird and Pony girl was adorable. I loved how such a rugged brawny Warrior like Hunter was so gentle, patient, protective and boyishly playful with these kids. Adorable, enchanting and stinking cute! -The continuous use of Comanche language and Western slang was so realistic and wonderfully handled. The
I think I have to repeat what Christel said and say "Wow!" This was a very powerful story was a great dynamic to it. I was fascinated and appalled all at once as I was reading. Once you finish, you can understand why Anderson had a hard time selling this book when she first tried back in the late 80's (as she mentions in the preface). There's nothing pretty or gentle or sweet about the story. It does have its sweeter moments, but for the most part it's harsh and brutal and thought-provoking. Yet
Wow, just wow!!! This book was originally released in 1991. One of Anderson's first stories and it is really good, excellent. Wow!! 7 years earlier Loretta's Mother and Father where killed by Comanche raider's in Texas. From that day on she did not speak. Hunter of the Wolf, a half-breed Comanche has a prophecy about him and the yellow-haird woman that does not speak. They finally find each other near the Brazo's River in Texas where Loretta lives with her Aunt, Uncle and Cousin Amy. After
