5 StarsExcellent book. Kyle Idleman does a great job presenting Biblical examples of what Christ meant when he called people to follow him. There is a discord, particularly in the American church, between what being a devoted follower of Christ looks like in the Bible and what it looks like now, in our lives. The New Testament is full of examples of people who gave up everything to follow Jesus. In our culture, we expect praise when we do God the favor of showing up to church 3 Sundays a month.

There were some points in this book that I did not agree with, but at the end of the day, it did make me question where the priorities in my life were. However, I do need to say that I would not give this book to a new Christian. The theology is a little confusing. I am, of course, basing this opinion on what I have learned and truly believe. I do believe that we are saved through the grace of God through belief in Jesus as our savior. I am not a big expert on the Bible, but I think it says
